Jetsetter and Sushi Eater

Where I found the meaning of life from traveling and eating Sushi.

I thank God for this journey because he gave me Ryan to come along with me on this road.

New Year’s Resolution is it Resolved?

Once again, a new time, a new year, a new beginning for all of us. I am one of those women that end up thinking about improving myself every year and making a mental note of what I want to get done and accomplish. I thought about making seven goals that are realistic for myself and for the year.  I’ll start blogging about my progress daily/weekly/or whenever I feel like it and I am going to be accountable. This 2013 resolution is not limited to things I would like to do for 2013.

1. Lose at least 20lbs. No brainer there, I do want to start a healthier lifestyle.

2. Run a 10K in the summer/fall. I’ve been running 5Ks but I think it’s time to move it up.

3. Learn how to sew.

4. Purchase our first home.

5. Go on a vacation somewhere outside the country with my husband. Paris/London/Ireland/Aruba/Jamaica

6. Go to a yoga class at least once a week.

7. Be more organized at home.

This is our first day back in Keystone. Every year, we ski in Keystone, CO with my father in-law’s family. The crisp winter air and the fresh smell of greenery is amazing. The snow falling on the ground is beautiful to watch as you wake up in the morning. Ryan, my husband is an avid skier. I on the other hand, ski green slopes. The trip isn’t complete without eating Buffalo Burgers from the DAM Brewery. Of course, on our first day, we did nothing but eat, drank hot cocoa, read books and lounged around the house. We will be skiing in the next couple of days so we’ll keep you posted on our next adventures. So far, so good, we’ve been drinking a water every 30 minutes to prevent altitude sickness. I’ll be loading more action ski photos later on.

Red by jovy-newsom featuring ballerina flats
I thought I’d put together something that’s affordable (without the purse, of course) and cute at the same time. I was inspired with Red today. Red is bold yet a touch of this color makes a world of difference in a neutral outfit. I was trying to find something simple yet strong. Here it is. Enjoy this palette. New York caught my heart in a minute.

Had a very wonderful trip with my husband in New York, NY this past week. The end of August and beginning of September was a great time due to the weather and the activity in the city. At first glance, everyone was telling me how the city can be dangerous and there’s a lot of crime. I was told that people were rude and nasty. I experienced nothing of the sort and as a matter of fact, we adored NYC’s lifestyle. We did not run into any criminal shadiness in the Subway nor was greeted with rude people. Not having a car and using public transportation was liberating. Shopping was amazing and the mixture of food, culture, arts, music was phenomenal. New York truly was a melting pot. High fashion was amazing but the up and coming Soho and Nolita fashionable trends was much worth it than the Bergdorfs and Henri Bendels of 5th Avenue. Of all places, I found myself piling on clothes and accessories from the Flagship store of Forever 21. The food was fantastic and found ourselves eating like a local and hanging out where the locals went to dine. The Metropolitan Museum of Art was my favorite aside from trying the Frozen Hot Chocolate as part of my Bucket List from Serendipity 3. The Met needs to be conquered and I am going back sometime next year to finish the Exhibits. I am at lost between my reality and my dream of New York. It amazes me that I know there’s opportunity for us to live there and experience the life in New York. It will still remain a mystery for me but I’ve fallen in love with NYC. I’ll be visiting New York again and fall in love with it over and over again. I think New York just kicked my love for San Francisco…I know. San Francisco and I are finally over.

NYC Part Deux and more emphasis on Food

Faves from my New York City Trip and I’m not done and still will be coming back.

Flats of Flattery

My mother in-law needed to get some sandals today so we took a trip to DSW. I bought two pairs of flats today. I bought a Beige Zigi Soho Gillian flats and an unexpected last minute pick up of a Fergalicious by Fergie Alana, Brown/Black Animal print flats. Remember me looking for the perfect flats? Well, I needed to expand and get more.

I opened the flood gates in buying flat shoes after my trip to San Marcos two weekends ago. A friend of mine that was bartending dropped a church key (flat steel metal bottle opener) on my poor toes (I was wearing flip flops). Needless to say, I was unable to sport anything with heels and it was very uncomfortable. I only had two pairs of flats (black and the Blue Chinese Laundry I blogged about previously). I started noticing my friends and co-workers sporting some cool flats after this injury.

I thought while my toes heal, I can definitely walk around with some cool new flats. I needed my toes to heal so I can walk around NYC during Labor Day Weekend pain free and start wearing heels again. While, I’m at it…might as well share to you and wear these cuties. They seem to be FLATtering so far.

WTF? I agree with Jayboo’s rant about this is not cool because it is not in my city. Why is this not in Dallas? Dallas has everything. If we have Neiman Marcus, why don’t we have the Nutelleria. Any Nutella Lovers out there who’d like to go hit up a Nutelleria with me? Insanity! I can eat little pieces of toast covered in Nutella every morning and just run to shed the calories. I guess, we can’t have everything. Soon Nutella..In and Out Burger came to Dallas and you’re next.
